I've been doing web development and design for 8 years. I work mostly with Drupal and related technologies, but I'm always interested in learning new skills.
Bi100
Bi100
Bi100: the site for the celebration of 200 years of Independence and 100 years of the Mexican Revolution, for the Federal District.
Site no longer online
What is it?
In 2010, Mexico commemorated two important events: 200 years of Independence and 100 of the Mexican Revolution. The government of the Federal District asked us to build a site to publish the event calendar and all the media they were generating for the celebration. Besides that, the site is meant to be a space for debate that allows people to talk about where we are as a country and where we want to go.
What did I do?
I worked together with the project manager and the two designers on the information architecture. They did the graphic design, while I was responsible for the Drupal development and deployment.
A little bit of geekspeak
The site was built on Drupal with a custom theme. To help the propagation of the site, Twitter was integrated to the comments system —each comment can be shared on twitter individually. A custom module was built to automatically show related nodes based on shared Taxonomy terms. In the media section, videos can be published using either Vimeo or a direct .mp4 upload.
