I'm interested in complex systems, emergent behavior and system dynamics.

I'd like to learn more about intellectual property rights, copyright law, and specially about the alternatives to this models, like P2P, Open Source and Free Software, and how to apply those models to other areas of knowledge creation and sharing.

I definitely want and need to learn more history and philosophy, and would like to learn more about economy, from various standpoints.

On the technological side, I need to learn to use version control systems —actually, I already started with Git. After two years of intense use, I keep discovering Drupal. I'm always open to learn new things when the projects I'm working on require them.

I want to embark on a larger project —lately, I've been on projects with short cycles—, one and in which I can learn from experts from other areas, specially the social sciences. Beyond learning, I would like my work to have an impact —even if it is small— on society, pushing towards a more egalitarian one.

I'm Mexican. I enjoy music, listening to people and walking in a park. I like visiting new places and observing what happens there. I like to cook, although I almost always improvise. I love learning new things, and tend to keep lots of —sometimes useless— data. I enjoy programming, but I can get cranky if I do it for too many continuous hours.

I refrain from being an utopian, but I still think we can do better, in many areas, as a species. I find the combination of challenges and opportunities in our time unique and exciting, and I want to take active part in the transition to a more egalitarian, and ultimately contented, humanity.

This website forms part of my effort to define what I want to do professionally, and at the same time, it's meant to be a window to let others see what I'm doing and, hopefully, find coincidences and get in touch with people I can collaborate with.
